Vulcan Video Dad Hat

Vulcan Video opened in 1985 and was a family-owned, independent video store with two locations in Austin, Texas. From foreign, cult, and classic films to the latest new releases, Vulcan Video had everything from the dimly remembered to the well-loved. In 2015, while in town for SXSW, Jimmy Kimmel and Matthew McConaughey did a series of Vulcan Video commercials as part of a "giving back" bit. Due to rising rent, streaming competition, and then the pandemic, Vulcan Video decided it was time to call it quits after 35 years in business.
